Contemporary Music Festival/Competition, Sunday November 15, 2026

The annual Contemporary Music Festival/Competition will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2026 beginning at 3:00 pm. The exact times and number of recitals will be determined by number of applicants. It is open to students of MTAC SCV teachers only. The festival entrants can be soloists, duos or trios, all instruments and voice. This festival is judged by leading professional musicians, and/or music professors with an expertise in this genre.

Accepted music for this festival: Published pieces written 1970 or later. If the piece is self-published, please note that the performance is what will be judged, not the piece. Winners receive trophies, or medals, and categories include: Piano – (Prep-1); (Levels 2-3); (Level 4-5); (Levels 6-7); (Levels 8-9); (Levels 10 and above) Instrumental/Voice – (Elementary levels 1-3) (Intermediate levels 4-6) (Advanced levels 7 and above).

The Festival Fee per student is $45. Teachers please submit a Contemporary Music Festival Entry Form for each student by November 1, 2026. (A Contemporary Festival Guideline sheet in detail will be available soon.)
